This role will maintain quality standards by approving incoming materials, in-process production, finished products and documenting / analysing quality data.
Approves incoming materials by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement checks; rejecting and returning unacceptable materials.
Approves in-process production by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement checks; communicating required actions to production team leader / Engineering teams.
Supports re-work activities whether on/off site.
Approves finished products by conducting Pre-Despatch Inspections and confirming required re-work to production team leader.
Documents inspection results by completing reports and logs; summarizing re-work and waste; maintaining quality databases.
Raising Non-Conformance notes and liaising with suppliers to resolve.
Support auditing of suppliers when required and sample inspection at supplier site.
Supporting processing of equipment for calibration.
Maintains safe and healthy work environment by following site standards and procedures.
The role may involve some travel when required.
One of the following qualifications / experience is essential:
Experienced Quality Inspector withrecognisedquality qualification (e.g. CQI).
Apprenticeship with relevant quality components completed & preferably 2 years production experience
Experience using standard measuring equipment is essential.
Experience / working knowledge of measurement arms an advantage (Faro / CAM2 experience preferred)
You should have good computer skills with working knowledge of MS Office applications.
Good report writing skills are also useful.
Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
The individual should demonstrate fault finding & problem solving abilities and be able to work with production and technical personnel in resolving issues.
A good working knowledge of production methods (fabrication, machining, etc.) would be advantageous.
