Position: Assistant Accountant
Location: Omagh (willing to do some travel to other sites)
Reporting to: Director of Finance
Reporting to the Director of Finance you will support all INI application and grant claims and provide support in relation to CDV, Mile Markers and SOX. This role will also support and perform when necessary the preparation of all sales and inventory reconciliation reports, you will prepare journals and reconcile key control accounts to ensure accurate month end close.
You will be an active participant in reviewing NPPD schedules, and in conjunction with Engineering and Product Managers establish NPPD projects suitable for grant aid, you will assist in the preparation of grant applications and claims provide all cost information when necessary.
You will assist in the preparation of all INI grant claims for Capex projects or other grant aid initiatives.
As part of the Finance team you will actively engage in all Internal SOX self-testing, the review of all internal procedures and assist in both internal and external audits, to ensure that all ICRM mile markers are met, including review of all monthly, quarterly working papers for completeness.
As a member of the Finance team you will assist in the preparation of month end financial information to ensure that the 4 day close is achieved, including preparing and posting journals and the input of all financial data into corporate reporting database.
You will provide KPI information required by department management and corporate management.
As a member of the Finance team you will assist in the preparation of quarterly forecasts and annual budgets, including collating all necessary Revenue, Cost of Sales, and Expense information and the input of all financial data into corporate reporting database.
You will assist the Financial Controllers at Omagh and Dungannon in aspects of financial management as the need arises, e.g. take part in factory stocktakes, assist annual standard cost reviews, assist make/buy process, assist NPPD Gate reviews, assist Ballymoney costing reviews.
You will attend meetings where financial input is required as requested by the Director of Finance.
Experience & Qualifications:
Educated to degree level, ideally in an Accounts capacity. Qualified or part qualified in professional accountancy exams.
Previous experience working within Financial and Cost Accountancy in a Manufacturing environment.
Strong systems knowledge and proficient in Excel Spreadsheets and Microsoft word, Experience working with Oracle or similar ERP system.
The ability to prioritise and thrive in a fast moving business in order to meet tight deadlines, working overtime and travelling when necessary.
Strong communication both oral and written with excellent interpersonal skills.
The willingness to cross train with colleagues and be flexible within a fast moving Finance team environment.
You must also be able to demonstrate that you are a results focused individual with the energy, drive and commitment to make it happen.
