Terex Corporation Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI) Technician in South Witham, United Kingdom

Overview:

Terex are looking for individuals with electrical, mechanical and hydraulic technical ability to join our Pre-Delivery Inspection Team to custom fit and complete pre-delivery inspections (PDI) for our Genie arial work platforms. Responsibilities:

Immediate Responsibilities

  • Carry out a robust pre-delivery inspection (PDI) on all machines from start to finish prior to customer accepting delivery according to high quality standards.

  • Willingness to performs other site/warehousing duties (loading/unloading of delivery vehicles) as assigned.

  • Assist the business by contributing reliable, on-time performance on a daily basis.

  • To adhere to safety working practices and ensure that they are followed at all times.

  • Demonstrate the ability to work within a team environment.

  • Ensure compliance with Terex AWP processes and procedures and remain compliant with all local laws and requirements.

  • Inform appropriate TM of any defective or unsafe equipment

Progressive Responsibilities

  • Thorough examination and certification – Perform mandatory inspections on some AWP machinery to LOLER standard.

  • Fault finding and diagnosis of technical problems

  • Developing robust standard operating procedures

  • Collaborate and communicate effectively with fellow Team Members

Qualifications:

Skills required:

  • Semi-skilled with electrical, mechanical or hydraulic technical ability.

  • Associated mechanical/technical engineering background.

  • Ability and willingness to undergo in-house training on all products.

  • Flexible, with strong teamwork orientation.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Problem solving abilities an advantage

  • Takes initiative and has a “can-do mentality’’

  • Capability to work in a high pressure environment

  • Ability to work under own initiative and as part of a team.

  • Disciplined and flexible

  • Cultural awareness to secure smooth cooperation and communication with team members

  • Computer literate

  • Eager to learn

  • Must be able to work at heights

  • Strong orientation toward quality, safety and continuous improvement.

Preferred previous experience but not essential:

  • Experience in a fast paced organisation

  • IPAF

  • Forklift license

Education / qualifications:

  • GCSE+BTEC auto-technique or similar

  • Experience with work platforms is an advantage

Own transport is essential as the site is not accessible by public transport
